Nice read. They should bring it back. It's an icon vehicle know around the globe.. The color is cool too. Wonder if I can get some of those curtains..

Re: "Bus" may be back
It's a shame the materials and quality have suffered. Tin-foil bus...
I drove a new '96 mexi-bug years back, it was shoddy. Reminded me of a Chevette.
Now if they ditched that radiator and stupid roof and put a type1 in there I'd be singin a different tune, sorta.

Re: "Bus" may be back
The one upgrade I really would like to try from that Brazil bus is the side mirrors. As crappy as the quality is on all the replacements out there, and as limited as they are in terms of viewing - those bigger Vanagon style ones would be really useful. Not very pretty, but useful.

Re: "Bus" may be back
Since the final neural pathway construction of my brain occurred behind the wheel of a VW bus, I am perfectly attuned in time and space with the stock mirrors (crazily angled and all). My '89 Vanagon had the bigger heated electric mirrors and they worked well with the Vanagon's slightly bowed sides. Of the bay window buses I have driven with many different styles of side view mirrors, none swayed me to upgrade.airkooledchris wrote:The one upgrade I really would like to try from that Brazil bus is the side mirrors.
