911 as daily driver

Post by covelo » Thu Feb 01, 2007 12:06 am

Now that we sold our squareback we are half seriously considering getting rid of our old BMW convertible and getting an old 911 targa instead. It's just more fun having the engine growling behind you. Has anyone here used one of those as a regular car? Would I be able to do most maintenance myself? What is the mileage of these cars? I absolutely love the look of an early 1970s 911 (coupe or targa) and you can find them around $10k here.

Get 912 instead...plenty of growl, with a bit extra style.

Engine parts are super-duper expensive compared to what you may be used to. You could get yourself one without an engine and put in a nice 2056 T4 and be flying around for not much $$.
