If you were a gas pump I would charge you 75 cents a mile 65 dollors an hour one way and time on site. Have you ever considered a per customer rate? Maybe excluding extreamly long drives if you could get noone between two really far away customers...maybe a 100 or 200 mile cap? Maybe the first hour is higher, or a minimum amount?
Then a customer sould have the option for more or less service? "Those ball joint boots will be at least a three hour job, wanna go for that or re-dye the black spots on your headliner?"
But i suppose my southern new england is much more local. As a very satisfied customer i would feel terrible if i knew your flat rate coming to me was costing you money. I hope we can set another appointment in the future. Maybe a turning 40 over the hill gift for the bus! We shall see
On a side note my 73 is getting a good dose of snow at the moment, but still the only vehicle ive owned my entire adult life. proudly
