Actually it is a trick of the asphalt crew who did not know how to lay down blacktop with any sort of eye towards "drainage".

ive always wanted to see one of those bodies on a kubelwagen chassis, I think it would look really shweet all jacked up with stubby tires.

like an aircooled VW version of an Subaru Outback.

of course not done to a nice unmolested model like Colin's, but someone's who's only other option is to be parted out and taken off the road.

Hey Colin, hope this is not too personal of question, but is this VW Repair Service, being Itinerant fixing VWs, your only source of income. If it is, you need to write a 2nd book (you need to get that 1st VW Repair book out first though as we all want a couple copies for each VW we have) on how to live in this world frugally, happily, and doing what you love to do, all on a very shoestring budget. Those #s you posted tell us much and you sure must live a nice life if you can get by with those #s. My wife alone spends, I don't want to say actually, X times more than that.

I could sure learn a thing or two if that is the case as my current lifestyle sucks the $$ out as soon as it comes in and I have nothing better to show for it.

I am able to live frugally because my needs are simple and my pleasures are free and I will never tell others how to do it, because you have to arrive here strictly on your own.

You should do a book/video infomercial. "How To Live Frugally & Be Happy Through Air-Cooled Volkswagens". I'm sure a big part of it is not caring about other's opinions and what's expected of you by society. Those damn Others!

Book, Schmook. What's it been? Like five years now!

You are kidding, right?

I am hand writing and hand illustrating this book, (trees be damned):

Is each book going to be hand written and drawn too?

Or photo copied?
