Bastage. I'm stuck at work tomorrow and still haven't had a chance to de-crap/re-load the Bus .. and won't have a chance the next couple of evenings.

Looks like I'll be free Friday after dropping the kid off at school. 9 AM basically, then a quick stop for beer and food.
May stay until Monday, not sure.
Don said he was coming on Friday nite.

Looking at maps to find out how to get there. I am having trouble finding #190

Let us know if this is close.
[album]219[/album]

4610 appears to be heading to hambone, though abbott road is 4610 and the road to the left of the 4 way junction is abbot road and it does head down from that location.

Inquiring minds want to know.

Yes, Abbot Road. It's the original route thru there, from the 30s. Paved 58 above wasn't put in until the 70s.
That is a very fancy map.

What with the forest fires on other parts of Mt. Hood and how dry everything is, whoever heads up first should probably check with the ranger station about whether campfires are currently allowed. We wouldn't wanna have a bunch of rangers crashing our peaceful little camp .. or have a bomber-load of fire retardant dumped on us.

It's not camping without a fire! I'm gonna try and make it Saturday if I can scrape together the gas money.

Ride with me for free on Friday. I'm sure someone has some free poptop space. Give me a holler if you want.
No fires, but we can sit around the lanterns in the rosy glow of my cheeks.
Extreme fire conditions' prompt countywide burn ban
Action bans open-flame fires of any kind; smokers asked to take extra care disposing of cigarettes
BY CATHY SIEGNER
The Clackamas Review, Sep 6, 2011, Updated Sep 7, 2011

Effective Wednesday, Sept. 7, and until further notice, the Clackamas County Fire Defense Board has implemented a Level E burn ban. The ban is due to extreme fire conditions caused by the continuing warm, dry weather.
According to Clackamas Fire spokesman Steve McAdoo, the burn ban was instituted because of high temperatures, low humidity and winds that this area will be experiencing over the next week.

"During this burn ban, no open fires of any kind are allowed, including recreational fires, camping fires or backyard fire-pit fires," McAdoo stated. "Basically, no open-flame fires will be allowed until further notice."

He noted that gas barbeques or Treager-type barbeques are still allowed, but should be used with extreme caution.
Anyone found to have an open fire during this burn ban will likely have it extinguished by their local fire department and could be issued a citation or warning for the violation, McAdoo warned.
He added that all Clackamas County fire departments are asking the public to use extreme caution when smoking and to properly dispose of cigarettes into a container of water or sand and never put them out in a flower pot or flick them onto the ground.
"If we are all vigilant and use extreme caution during this burn ban, we can keep ourselves safe and our neighbors safe," McAdoo stated.
Meanwhile, the Clackamas County commissioners are scheduled to approve a state of emergency Thursday morning in the event the Dollar Lake Complex wildfire burning on the Mount Hood National Forest south of Hood River begins to head this way.
It's crazy, last week in the area it was cold, cloudy, wet, and full of mosquitoes. A week later it all changes.

I'll be going. Got a little money so I'll take my Bus but thanks for the offer. I'll be there early afternoon on Saturday. Probably around 2. Need a break from moving, unpacking and getting the brat set up in a new school. No special meals from me this time unless I catch some trout or crawdads on Saturday morning.

Forgot to call you back, Bob. I got your message last night. Your witty coercions (sp?) were the final push I needed.

So "X" marks the spot? That means Abbot Rd. to the left is 190, right? Or is there a gravel road between Abbot & 240?
