Wouldn't be a bad idea to scrape/brush the loose stuff off, but no need to get it all off .. that's just crazy talk. Primer was a freebie @ work, paint was cheap @ work. Gpnna grab some cheep brushes & roller covers to bring along...

Boy I sure hope this thing is solid enuff! It would be funny to do all that work and then watch it fall over.
Can you imagine, that sucker has been standing since the '30s over 4000'? All to receive poop.
I have been looking at maps (!) and old photos, and I see that a CCC camp was very close by. Hopefully we can still find traces.

Hey it's looking good for me getting out of here Thursday! I'll likely drive to work and just head out from here.

Something quick be ok?. I don't wanna sit around a restaurant too long b-cuz it's a long haul out there. Fearless may take a while.

I only mentioned them 'cuz we could get beer also, kill two birds with one stone -- there's no beer at Jack In The Crack, Toxic Bell or McBarfies.

Can-O-Chili? Can-O-Stew? Frozen pizza in a dutch oven? :geek:

It's not just you; I've been needing a relaxing campout since last year. Maupin was stressful with the Bus, then I didn't have my Bus anymore until a month ago. The outhouse Service Project is just a bonus I get to sink my teeth into.

I'm gonna git some beer at Grocery Outlet. You want me to pick something up for you? They have either decent micros, strange mircos from the East Coast at discount prices, or Rolling Rock. Let me know, I'll be there anyway.
Thanks a ton for getting the outhouse project rolling, with supplies and gumption.
Just think, fresh spring water gushing out of the mountainside, ice cold and pure. It's a stronger flow than Hambone Springs.
Hopefully the road won't be too busy as there isn't much of a pullout. Beautiful spot though with huge old trees. HUGE freakin fire in the 1930s scoured much of the Roaring River watershed, but somehow missed gems like High Rock and Hambone. The area has recovered incredibly, but it was 70 years ago after all! Imagine how many fires have occured there in the past 10,000 years...all the parts are working together like a beautiful machine.
