Where up the Clack did you have in mind. I found a good spot a couple of miles down river from Timothy Lake.

Hey! If I can drive all the way up to Maupin, then your Portlandistas can drive down to Bus City that weekend.

I've got that screwy schedule so this is a Thurs-Sat AM trip if it goes down. Looks like it's going to be another chilly rainy one in the Cascades, Temps down into the 30s overnite.
I found a good spot a couple of miles down river from Timothy Lake.
Where abouts? Along FS57? There used to be a trail down where the road is up high on the canyon side, supposed to still be down there in spots. I think the snow is still covering that area. Heavy snowpack...

Thinking about the White River too, just past the desert line. Not much farther than Big Bottom. Some sageland would be nice.

Yeah I know. If it's any consolation I haven't been sick while camping since about 1996.
Cold and rain are unfortunately normal for the Cascades for 3/4 of the year. Summer is a short deliteful exception. I'm willing to endure the damp for some quality wilderness time though. Sometimes you just have to, or wind up staying home all the time.
Hell the rain doesn't bother me too much unless it's that 35 deg. stuff. I got tuff skin.

Right now the big issue is the deep low snowpack. Ya can't really get to most places.
