Hunters Moon Camp Out (OCT 26-28)

Ruckman 101 came up with this idea. It sprouted out of the idea of doing a 'last campout of the season before it snows' type deal....kind of like the first IAC campout in the Clackys.

Anywho, we should make it a tradition and find a great spot somewhere in WA or OR. I wouldn't mind the Clackys again but Gypsie and Hambone are the wiz kids for finding spots so I would like to hear what they have to say. Bring yer warm clothes and coffee! :geek:

That's a special time, most spirituous. I'd go, depending on when/where...right now Summer has me by the huevos. Not to mention "other factors causing discord"...I really need as much forest medicince I can get.

I am getting tingly thinking about creating a 'ritual' with you folk.

I have my hooded robe and can brush up on my chants...

or we could just find a great spot and bring beer.

Whatever.

P'raps the Kinzel Lake locale?

Who says it has to be one or the other? I've been to a couple campout gatherings that involved hooded robes (for those that chose to wear them), chanting and rituals that had plenty of beer .. and lots of other fine alcoholic beverages. Worst thing that happened was Juan breaking a rib in a sparring match with shinais (bamboo practice sword) when Bjorn got a bit carried away.

Bloody Viking...

Spoooookey. Just bring wood that actually burns without additional fuelage (is that a word?) You guys (well, Gyspie), scare me...when do we all get together again?

We could chant the lyrics to "We Threw Gasoline On The Fire And Now We Have Stumps For Arms And No Eyebrows" by NoFX for that part of the campout.

Only problem is that it's an instrumental...

Okay, okay I get it wet wood is hard to burn in the rain :geek:

Hey, we's got the instruments we just need an audience!

I looked at a few maps and found a place in the Ginford-Pinchot NF called Glacier Lake. It looks like it is off of FR21 which is off of route 12 near Packwood. I haven't been there but it looks like you could camp down by the 2 mile long trail up to the lake.....could be a good spot with views of Rainier, st helens, and adams.....boy does THAT suck!

Hambone...I finally found my favorite quote of yours:

"We should go camping in the middle of February in a rainy place, green cold and dripping, like the inside of a wintergreen liqua-filled gum or 13 billion menthol cigarettes."

Still makes me giggle.....and very appropriate =D>
