Once again hoping to get out before the crappy weather comes back...with that fire along 224 options are a little limited!
Have a couple ideas in mind, closer to town in the Clackamas. :flower:
Thinking of keeping the kid out of school on Friday too.

Depending on the 36 Pit Fire, I would like to go here, close to town and on the edge of wilderness:

BUT the area is closed right now. Great:

I'll see what the rain does...

RIP IAC camps? Well I'll keep posting this shit, at least someone can find my carcass someday. Everyone's just too damn excited about the new iphone6 etc etc. Portland is no wilderness.
Looks like me n Randy, Friday-Monday, probably Kinzel or Fir Tree Camp (1/2 way to Kinzel...road is supposed to be bad...)

travel 29.5 miles east of Sandy on US Hwy 26. Turn right (south) at Still Creek Campground Road (Forest Road 2650). Drive 1.1 miles and take the 2nd right onto E Chimney Rock Road. Travel 0.5 mile and continue onto Kinzel Lake/Sherar Burn Road (Forest Road 2613). Drive 9 miles to the end of Kinzel Lake Road (Forest Road 2613). Parking is at the end of the road. The trail starts at the south side of the road. Alert: Forest Road 2613 is a rough, narrow, one lane gravel road with turnouts. It is not recommended for trailers.

P.S. the kid is staying home for this one...

Great trip! Weird being on the other side of the mountains.
That is one busy little hell-road, like Abbot on experimental drugs...but the nearby nature was astounding. Sherar Burn...
Thanks Sluggo, would have been awfully quiet without you out there.
