We're good to go. Exploratory trip 2 weeks ago (when there was WAY more snow) was clear until I got higher than we're gonna be (eh...hem...cough). Plan A, absolutely no issue. Plan B, the shaded road down into Bonney holds snow longer than most ... but I doubt there is anything still there...and it's been warm and windy here and sunny for the last week. And, some yahoo with a big truck and a bed full of Coors Light cans has been up and down that road for sure.

As far as comin' in on the 48 ... that I'm not sure. I'll try and find out if that's open, as it will save you 30+ minutes.

Nope. Checked with a reliable local and there is still a big plow pile blocking entrance. So, normal rt for youz.

From the Google SAT view, 140 road seems to have a camp up there...and it's right on the edge of the wilderness, on the canyon edge.
Gettin packed, it's been a while. I miss the wilds.

I will check both of the spurs that head to the edge :cherry: . Hey Bob, have you seen Jasan lately? He walked over there to take a pee and I haven't seen him since :pirate:

Camping on the edge of a steep cliff could prove dangerous :drunken: ... just about lost Zane about 6 years ago farther down the road. Glad his knot held :cyclopsani:

I have a hunch there will be a cool spot at the end of one, or both of those roads. I'll check and leave a sign with a detail or two to save you some searching. Or, maybe I'll just make ya drive around a bit.

Packed and ready. Zoomer is beside himself with giddyness. I'll find a good place up top, or see all ya'all at Bonney. A sign or two will clue you in. See ya tomorrow! Can't wait ... need 3 days in the woods with you guys!

So if looking on Google Earth the road we're looking for is Highland Ditch Rd? Loops back down to 4811?

Yup. Not sure if it's signed well or not, looks like it cuts off to the left (170) off of 2710. If passable, I'll go to the end of 170, cut back to 022, and to the end of 140, then back to 4811 if nothing favorable is found. The map in the tread shows it all pretty clearly ... roads may be blocked, who knows. I'll check it out and post a sign at the 2710 / 170 junction. Worse case (which isn't a bad case) is along the creek at Bonney Crossing.

All ready except for food! Busy day, even got a tetanus shot to celebrate! And my B.P. has been normal for the first time in a couple years! All I had to do was give up caffeine and live better, bleah. And stick to the indica.
See you out there. :thumbleft:

I guess I totally spaced out this campout, I was thinking it was next weekend. I need to check in here a little more often. Hambone you should have reminded me! I hope to make it to next month's outing, wherever that might be.
