73 Westfalia at Eureka, Ca junkyard. For sale or scrap soon

This is at our local junk yard. It was impounded, and there's maybe a week or so left before it's either sold or moved to the 'yard for picking/pulling/scrapping.

They want $1000 to buy it before it's scrapped. It supposedly runs, just roughly. Someone was trying to sell it a year or so ago on Craigslist for $3k.

Id be in a better position to consider saving it myself, if we didn't just buy the wife a new (used) car last night. Got a good deal on an Outback with the 3.0 6cyl - very fun car.

Im tempted though. damnit.

it was saved, just not by me.

I have met a few local bus guys lately that are buying up everything that shows up. saving the ones that are worth saving and using others to Frankenstein other projects into life.
