I am using our OR state park pass so I am only paying 6 bucks for the weekend...they allow a second vehicle for a nominal charge so you are welcome to park in our area.

It's gonna be a thriving event this summer! Looking forward to it. It seems that the IAC forum has really helped to get the word out too.

er .. lemmie chime in here, even tho I can't make Nehalem

There were problems with the rangers at Nehalem 2-3 years ago with the "second vehicle" thing. Apparently, while a 40-foot motorhome and a 20-foot long Suburban in one campsite is perfectly okay by them, two 19-foot Westies (or Rivieras or whatever) isn't allowed. Yes, even if there's plenty of room in the slot. The rangers consider our rigs to be "RVs", and require each RV to have it's own campsite.

that said, since Hambone's Westy isn't a poptop, you might be able to slide under the radar with a bit of "this is just a Bus parked here" stealth camping.

Silly, I know.

That's right!! Dang I forgot about that!

Do you think our two disabled vet passes will help? We'll just bring Hammie some crutches for when the ranger walks by. :blackeye:

Ah hell I could just pay and get myself a spot. Ain't THAT much!
State Parks can be a drag sometimes, all the regulations and pavement and stupid motor homes...

I gotta keep up on my reading in the forums. I just sent Hambone a PM about the second vehicle thing. ":sleeping unit" she says, I'll throw out a tent if it'll mak'em happy. Spose you gotta have rules but, sheeesh, some of em's ridiculous.

I will be tooling in tomorrow in the mid afternoon. (I will be following the '78 Westy of Westy78 I'm sure. I am half expecting to see flames shoot out the backend ala Batman.)
The B and C loop are open too. I am hoping to get a primo spot in the hinterlands. Ocean view? Maybe raise a ruckus til the late hours. (Not really a ruckus per se, more like a mild hootenanny).
Bringing poker chips and a deck of cards if anyone is interested in a friendly game. I like to play a $5.oo gift/white elephant buy in. find a cool $5 gift (new or used), everyone gets same chips at start, as you are knocked out that is your standing. Time limit or all the marbles? First place=first pick and so on. It's not gambling, really....

Stunt kites, bike, beer, and (per HAl), goggles. Boy-Howdie! Looking to be a good time.
So it all started when I wanted to get better gas mileage....
