Any interest in August campout in NOR-OR/SO-WA?
Now is the time to start planning. Any ideas on a place by a lake with a large Group Camp? I"m thinking mountains somewhere.. burned out of being fogged in at the beach in August...

I've always wanted to go to Crater Lake.. and will..however, not sure it's best for a big bus group. Reservations are really tight.. can anyone who's been there shed any light? I'm more than happy to go there if you think it will work out.

August is a long way off! If I'm still alive or un-crazy I'll go.....
There are a bunch of "pocket lakes", some with campgrounds, all scattered around the Oregon Cascades. Even camping next to rivers can be nice.

I just posted some pix too. I must say, I'm partial to the wilderness experience; it's nice having a couple mountains all to yourself. Primitive campgrounds are nice too.

I was just telling Sommer we should plan a bus campout some where in the Oregon Outback. Silver/Summer lake area? Hot springs, Cowboy Dinner Tree? Something like that?
