Teri, my daughter. She wanted to bring some friends of hers but they're on their own I got nuthin to do with that. Other than that I'll be flyin solo.
I did that google map thing of Chicago earlier, weird how much Chicago Ave. between Western and Damen has changed, lots of new buildings. Rockwell looks exactly the same.
It's going to be good to be back. It's been a while. We'll have some time to screw around in Chicago too, except for Friday which is her graduation. I gotta put on a tophat.

To give you an idea of what you are getting into, I present:
Our first morning at the Wooded Wonderland, Truman and Lola helping Eli set up camp.
[albumimg]1888[/albumimg]
Camp is pitched.
[albumimg]1889[/albumimg]
Truman in front of the Turk-mobile. Turk is still asleep.
[albumimg]1890[/albumimg]
Turk-mobile in front of a Mississippi inlet. Train running on pilings. There's a lot of weird little character there. What was that luge, bobsled, skateboard run thing, right by the river?
[albumimg]1891[/albumimg]
A beautiful vista. I think I was up on some construction equipment when I took it. A lot of beautiful rolling hills. Some a bit scary. Closest comparison I know is West Virginia or Virginia...
[albumimg]1892[/albumimg]
[albumimg]1893[/albumimg]
Turk, Eli and Truman's butt.
[albumimg]1894[/albumimg]
Turk-mobile by the Mississippi.
[albumimg]1895[/albumimg]
After a hard day of exploring:
[albumimg]1896[/albumimg]
[albumimg]1897[/albumimg]
The morning after. The dogs ate well!
[albumimg]1898[/albumimg]
[albumimg]1901[/albumimg]
The dogs don't care about late nights and good times they want to get out and explore.
The blueberry patch.
[albumimg]1899[/albumimg]
And beyond.

Got a delivery today, a toilet lid that goes on a 5 gallon bucket and a privacy tent that can be used for toilet and shower duties. I'm psyched to rough it!
Ok.
Revised who's coming:
ChitwnVw
VWbusrepairman
Turk
Hambone
Hippiehelp
MattG ( maybe, depending on work)
locoqueso (late on the 7th or more likely on the 8th)
Amskeptic????
Colin's mum on whether he's showing or not. I suppose he needs to keep his options open, as helping the AC VW faithful has to be his priority. I will keep a few beers in the cooler and a few warm diet cokes on the cooler in case he shows.
Who thinks they will show up on the 6th? Thirstytank, Me.
Who's planning on staying to the 9th?
Anyone in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin that I've failed to invite? Poptop Tom is still trying to get his ride roadworthy, but will come if he can, maybe Repairman can pick him up on the way. Mr. Blotto is away on business that weekend.

We went camping with a couple that had one of those toilet-seats-on-a-stand. Conversation would semi-halt around the campfire when we all heard "passages from the bible" coming from the general direction of the quadraped crapper.
I prefer a shovel but I know that some of our ladies wont put up with our camping habits without a proper throne.
