I hope to be out of town around 4:00 on Thursday. Gotta scope out a new spot in the shade for the hounds. Got a new side tent for them to sleep in so I'll need some flatter ground.
Chorizo, it's what's for breakfast.

Re: 11th Annual Deschutes River RendezVW! Maupin, OR
Great trip, sorry I had to split at 6:30ish this morning to get to work.
I've finally got a read on my high-speed MPG with the engine and the hightop. Fueled in The Dalles this morning, ran straight freeway on I-84 & I-205, gassed again just around the corner from home. 84.7 miles @ 75-80 MPG used 5.400 gallons == 15.69MPG. Not great for a Bus, but considering the added frontal area and travel speed, not as bad as it could be.

Made it home at around 1:30 pm today. No issues on the way home, thankfully. My thanks to Mark for throwing this bash, and to everybody who came and made it such a party.

Best RendezVW ever! I am healed by you wonderful people.
Almost ran out of gas, made it there and to Troutdale on 12 gallons! No gas beyond Cascade Locks, now I know...

Re: 11th Annual Deschutes River RendezVW! Maupin, OR
Had a great first year there. Camping, VWs, and live music...can't ask for much more. Looking forward to next year and getting in early on Friday instead of at bedtime.
Had some good MPG segments. Legs were determined by potty breaks for the family and to give the dog some outside time. Seattle to Ellensburg: 17.5 MPG. Ellensburg to Goldendale: 17.2 MPG. Goldendale to Maupin to Goldendale: 16.5 MPG. Goldendale to just before the long climb to Chinook Pass on Hwy 410: 20.1 MPG (love that long decent into Yakima!). Don't know my final fuel mileage just yet.
Greta ran great the whole time and the new-to-me starter eliminated the no-start-when-hot issue. I also noticed that removing the nose mount spare tire carrier made Greta less susceptible to side gusts from passing vehicles. All in all, happy travels.
