Not quite that warm...but for this time of year it was absolutely perfect. Headin' outside now to play with the boys before it gets dark.

So we're doing the 30th-1st? I'm going to see if I can get that Friday scheduled off.
Chorizo, it's what's for breakfast.

To the left of the bus and down a deep canyon. There's also little streams meandering about.

Down in the canyon bottom. VERY wild.

Love that area. Can't wait. I got Friday off Bob so would you be interested in a Thursday eve departure for Maupin? That way we could get a nice early start on Friday and have almost two full days to relax. I hope there's still some good trout in Badger Creek.

Lookin' like I can head out early Friday....you guys are welcome to "camp" at our place Thursday night if you want...actually...we'd love it if you'd "camp" at our place...I'll buy the beer! I'm gettin' psyched! I've never explored that area and I'm embarrassed to say so...so close yet so close.....I may take the young'in ...he doesn't drink but he can tell a good story and may even sing a song or two

You'll really like it, right at the transition between Cascade forests and the desert. Lots of oaks too.
Hopefully the snow won't be an issue...

Currently the snow is not an issue. Do you know of a place right on the creek? Looks like there are many options without having to travel toooo far.

I know of a secondary F.S. road (the red gravel one) that follows the top of the canyon and has many opportunities for camp fun. The creek itself is pretty far down.
Get yerself a Barlow District (I think?) F.S. map and check out the area around Bonny Crossing, you'll see the lay of the land.
This map is missing some roads:

Have you camped at the Barlow Crossing site? From what I understand it is a sweet little spot right on the creek....I'd try to catch us some trout for lunch :geek: I'll go wherever you guys decide...anywhere we can spread out and relax for a couple of days suits me and my bus just fine.
