Perhaps you'd like some more 3,872 rpm in 4th gear Motoring With Amskeptic to Maupin once more?

... but your spirit, your Spirit will have nothing to do with small nattering adult justifications, your spirit will be crying inside as you attempt to out talk your inner truth,... all because you ignored The Life, The Love, The Spirit, The Truth, The Joy, the unassailable joy. . . of driving in a windswept gorge in a VW bus on a beautiful day.

Colin :pirate:
Frig, man. I still quake when I think of my trial-by-fire with the LeadFoot Twins. Here I was, on my second day EVER driving a bus, and you guys fling me headlong into the most adverse driving conditions possible for these vehicles. :pale: And I'm supposed to be won over? Sheez.

I did pass you going uphill, though.

"small, nattering adult justifications"

I take it you reference the previously-referenced airbags, cruise, good sound, heater, AC and fuel efficiency? :cherry:

Wait... We've been there. :pirate:

"unassailable joy"

The peak of the joy you reference I reached during the two days after Maupin. The sadness of leaving new friends provided a dash of piquance to the overpowering sweetness of solo travel homeward in the Dorper. It was geovehicular heaven.

My other vehicles are appliances. The VW is a spirit. I know this.

This is a spirit, too, perhaps even as godlike as a bus, but it's very poor at carrying stuff I need and I can't sleep in it. I also had to give it back.

It's open to any VW's period. Hell even some non VW people have been allowed there in the past.
The best navigators aren't sure where they're going until they get there. And then they're still not sure.

Yup. Bring any type of VW. Hope to meet you in June!

Hiya regis,

Yeah, we just aren't a very discriminating group. We'll let most anything in. But leave the Hummer at home.
I have cancer.

It does not have me.

It's sad. But, Z is right, this isn't free speech.

Someone could start a new thread in free speech though.

:flower:

So back on topic here....

My cellphone has been really crappy for the past few months. My employer made an enterprise deal with T-Mobile and for 7.00 more a month I am getting a Blackberry with access to do everything--->well almost everything. This will be invaluable once I am back in school! So I will be attached to one less evil overlord/former employer.

The best part about this??? FREE DOMESTIC COMPANION AIR TICKET!!
I get two tickets for the price of one for getting a new account so it looks like half our airfare to PDX for Maupin will be FREE!!! I'm jazzed!

J has had T-Mobile (for his work cell) for years and loves it. Win-win.
