Have the stuff ceramic coated that silver color as it lasts way longer than high heat paint.

Paint did not burn off. Rust has come through in only 6 -7 weeks. May hold up nicely in a very dry climate. The rust started coming through soon after a 4-5 day rainy stretch.

. . . has also begun to show little rust speckles after only one hurricane, one nor'easter, and 10,000 miles. I am disappointed, but I understand what the issue is here. Exhaust components, if viewed under a microscope, must have major craters in the surface of the pipes. Even though we sand and sand, and then scrub with soap and scuff pads, and rinse and rinse, and apply etch-primer, those craters never get their floors cleaned out. Paint will not adhere in the pocks. I think next time, I am going to try a serious sandblast, how about you, Bill? I for one, do not want to see these original nice-fitting parts just rust away.

I did sand blast it. Washed it with brake kleen. let dry before paint. next time I will treat with brushable rust converter before prime and paint.

Have that on my buggy exhaust. It doesn't go out in the wet, micro spots of rust have shown up, just from humidity. I clean it with 0000 steel wool and WD-40.

Hagus bus side mirrors. German.
5 years, glass de-laminated, plastic seal failed and cracked, and nut/potmetal threads stripped out, nut rounded off with minimal torque applied. The mirror actually fell off!

What other chrome/stainless mirrors do we have to chose from?

Wolfsburg West makes repros but I can't vouch for 'em. Bet they're decent.
You can also get Chinese. Good luck.

I have yet to receive anything but complete crap from CIP1. Their sunroof seals are of the same quality.

I try not to order things from them unless they are the only supplier I can find them in stock at, or if they just happen to have the same parts as everyone else and has a better price on them (they ship quicker to me than BD can because of the location.)

But im not going to support them for any parts anymore, it's just not worth it.

Please please please call them at "customer support AKA runaroundblowoff" and get as high up the chain as you can, then give them an earful. Honestly, we are to blame for this crap in the long haul if we do not provide serious careful feedback.
