Last fall Colin suggested I wrap electrical tape around the steering column to tighten things down.
Not one to procrastinate, I tried it yesterday. I also filed a notch in the way-stripped out screws (soft aluminum, what the hell?).
It worked! Nice things stay in place now. Just wanted to pass this tidbit on.

I hit on another solution for the spinning turn signal switch problem. This is for the '68 to '72 turn signal switches. I took a small length of that rubber edging used to protect door edges. I think you can even use a piece of rubber tubing split legthwise with a razor. I slipped that over the edge of the "rim" that is supposed to seat down on the steering column. You can put it on just the switch side and/or the housing side depending on how much "bite" you need to stop the switch from spinning. It seated my switch real solid.
I got all the baywindow parts
