Not excusing her, and I love 914s, but you can't count on a car's color to make it visible when it's the size of the average go-kart.Bleyseng wrote:A lady backed into the 914, she said I never saw the car. (car is bright orange)

It's two distinct tones, I'll honk it longer and louder on camera when I'm in the farmlands tomorrow…Bleyseng wrote:It's still a "Beep Beep"....get a set of Ghia dual tone horns atleast...
(They ARE two different horns, one 5" (tunable) and one 4" (fixed)…)

Re: re: Horns, Theory and Execution - Go
I would say your horn sounds almost too musically "sweet", Robbie.asiab3 wrote:I eventually settled on a minor second as the chosen interval.
One of those horns can go lower still. Pick the instant it begins to "rasp". Make the leaf spring horn holder (amplifier) stick out horizontally to give the vibrations more leverage. I wish I had the nasty sound of Chloe's sour sound recorded somewhere . . .

Re: re: Horns, Theory and Execution - Go
Maybe shift it to a minor key to get a darker effect. Still sounds too meep-meep friendly.
Personally, I was never a fan of the squawky soprano sax, and Kenny G just nailed that coffin home. Much preferred the bari sax for its visceral effect in the lower registers.
