looking at those photos, the grooves are too deep to use that one again. It will catch the ball bearings and stop moving again. if you can get by with just one that may be all it needs. Keep the good ball bearings that weren't discolored or damaged. If any of the ball bearings are damaged on the other CV's you can use them there.
Yes the one in the first post is trashed and will be replaced. Upon further inspection before I made the order I inspected and the other two are not as bad as the pic shows. Mainly some polishing but very little grooving. One joint has some pitting in one channel. All balls are fine and the inner race on both are fine.

4 Boots and 1 joint on the way.

Little enough information for you? :bootyshake:
I guess it'd've made more sense if I'd only quoted this much:

I had plenty left over for smearing onto other things.
Enough of my hijacking with a dumb, juvenile joke, I know. Carry on.

Well, I guess I'd left myself wide open for that.

Back on-topic: Mulcheese, I hope you ordered the good quality boots, not the cheap Empi garbage. Otherwise you'll be back in there in as little as a few months.
T3Techniques and others also sell the Rockford brand boots that are supposed to be the last word in CV boot durability, though I think Colin may have an informed opinion on them.

Rockford boots in my experience with others' cars, have been too hard to flex properly, and woe if you have a missing pleat. You should have four, minimum.
