'72 1700, dual PDSIT.
Distributor has the dual can vacuum, and this vehicle is supposed to be equipped with a temperature sensor to allow vacuum advance in 4th gear only, once the temperature hits ~50F.

I never seen one of these sensors. Does it look like this?

If not, what is this?

Thanks,

That thar is a Voltage Regulator, look at the plug.

The temp sensor resides above the battery and has a simple single spade terminal.

Can anyone send me a picture of one? Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to see a guy who says he has boxes and boxes of parts but doesn't know what one looks like, and neither do I.
With a picture we'll be able to spot one, I hope.
Thanks,
Jim

Looks like a big brass nut with a spade at the end of it.
Don't need it.
