need recommendation for good machine shop

I need a recommendation for a good machine shop that can check for line boring of my type IV block, grind/polish the crank as necessary, swap the cam gear off of my original onto my new cam. There's a few other steps that need to be done, but those are the major ones.
My preference would be a shop within 300 miles of Detroit (so I don't have to ship), however, willing to ship to get quality. Please note, I'm not looking for an engine builder.
Thanks,
Mike

At this point, familiarity is a plus. Rimco in CA is very familiar with the details, but you do need to assert your quality demands and stay on top of deadlines, etc.

I'd recommend you join the northern Ohio LEAKOIL forum at
http://www.leakoil.net/forum and send a PM to "Toolbox" (Ted) who lives in your area. I would trust any referral he would make. Tell him "Don from Canton" sent you!

One of their admins who created my LEAKOIL account, Bill Webner, recommended European Motorworks, also in Cali.

I need to caution here that I have suffered from RIMCO and have heard only sad stories about their work since.
European Motorworks in Hawthorn know Type 4 engines well. I would go to Brothers in Ontario before them too..

Then, I am taking tommu's review at face value, and tommu is going to leave a post in the Engine Forum under "Parts Known To Be Acceptable" where he provides contact information for both.
Thanks, tommu.
