I'm not sure but the case was brand new.

The first case was brand new? What kind/brand, VW Mexico? VW Brazil? AS 21?

Not speaking for 71WW, but Adrian showed me a brand new Auto-Linea case when I was at his shop last year asking about the check ball mod. So I know he can get those, but I'm not sure if that's all he uses.

The case didn't have any either!

My case was a new Brazilian and I think the number is AS 41? I can go look if needed. It's not the autolinea case.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Brazilian cases are as good as we can get?

My 2nd Adrian build appears to run well. We will have an assessment, of course, when Colin is here in October.

Wait, scratch that, new T4 cases show "available" from VW Classic Parts. Not sure if they're setup for 411/Van/Bay/hydraulic/solid lifters........

Last I heard, VW Classic Parts wouldn't sell to customers in the U.S. Something about VWoA trying to keep a stranglehold on their monopoly here. Bastards.

Ive ordered parts from VW Classic parts 3 times without issue. The last time was probably a year and a half ago or more though, so it's possible something has since changed.

Apparently, even VW dealers in the US have been cut off, so maybe my comment above about VWoA is off the mark.

With Volkswagen's recent ethical lapse of epic proportion, I choose to stay clear of them too for the time being.
