Turns out the guy on the samba is out of shims. Called A-1 Automotive(Dan Hall's) and Troy is looking for shims.

Have you tried Discount Import Parts near Washington Square? I've always had good luck with them.

Hi,
Germansupply.com and Vanagain.com appear to have a variety of flywheel shims that fit (I believe) the Type IV engine. I recently ordered some 0.36mm's from Vanagain, but have not yet received them.
