Just did ours as well.

He's up to $100 now plus shipping, which was $14 USPS to MASS. Great work, super fast turnaround. I sent it on Monday USPS Priority Mail, he called on Wed for credit card number, had it back and in the bus on Friday. Much cheaper than a new or new/rebuilt one!

rear brake shoe retaining pins.

Post by soulful66 » Sun Sep 11, 2011 7:14 pm

Autozone PT # H24034

I have used the pins from this kit on my '72 & '73, and the pins work with the VW reatining springs & cups. I found these a few yrs ago out of frustration from the too short pins in the "VW brake hardware kits"

Now that's a find!
Bookwus made a purchase from Belmetric a couple of years ago and distributed it to all of us starving booster-equipped bus owners. I never wrote it down .... :pale:

Colin said I should use ATE brand brake hoses for the front end of my Westy; does anyone know who sells them?

http://www.germansupply.com/

Part Number:
281 611 775 B
Rubber brake hose '71-'79 Bus Front

"out of stock"

Use Italian or whatever if you have to, ATE was a hopeful wish that has apparently dried up. They do have rear German ATE rubber lines . . .
