Leaving Tools Behind

Post by Hippie » Fri May 25, 2007 5:04 am

I haven't even done this yet myself, but here's an idea I had this morning:

I'm always leaving a wrench or something behind when I clean up in the semi-dark at the end of the day.
Everytime I go to Bill's house, he has a wrench I left over there from helping with his Bus.

What about a small strip of reflective tape around all the major tools?
I know they'll get greasy, but I bet they would still light up good enough to show up with a quick flashlight scan of the work area.

:blackeye: I don't know why. I rarely loose tools at home or work...must be the 12-14 hour days on that Bus of his.

I pick up my tools and put them back in their place after each task. Then gather the tools for the next task. Sounds time consuming, but it saves time in the end. No time wasted looking for tools, everything is where it belongs.
Working on my VW's is about the only time I show any organization skills :compress:

My ancient vise grips are still at Jon's house. Been there for like 2 years. I really need to get over there and pick them up.
