Surprise Christmas Gift from my wife (and boy she will be surprised when she finds that she gave them to me).

1 gauge and 25' long. I even have the optional $12 bag they actually fit in. $72 total.

The clamps finally let go on my old pair that I have had for 20 years or more.

Well, "copper clad" aluminum wire. Not my favorite metal for electrical wire purposes.

Nothing really wrong with copper clad aluminum, you just have to go up one size to be able to transmit as much energy through the cable. The copper cladding keeps the aluminum from oxidizing. The big power lead to the fuse box to most houses (including mine) is big gauge aluminum wire.

I like the big parrot beak clamps. They look pretty rugged.
