Crazy life..

Post by hambone » Tue Oct 31, 2006 8:31 am

My father in law passed away this weekend after a short difficult battle with ALS. Will be in upstate NY this weekend, who woulda thought that? I won't be around here much for a bit...
He was a great guy, a writer, artist, libraraian, and a very funny and inspirational man to be around. I hope he's at a peaceful place.

Sorry to hear. Take good care of your family and yourself. For a parent that may be the best tribute of all; knowing you left behind loving people.

My condolences to you and your family, Hambone. I used to be blase about the cycle of life and the loss of members of preceding generations, but I have lost too many people whose spirits I wish were still around.
That's the damdest thing about getting older, to start appreciating people's spirits more right when they start moving on.

Where in upstate NY are you going?

Crazy crazy. We won't be arriving until Friday or I'd meet up with ya for a bit. Gonna be cold up there...hell it's cold here too. Don't have my winter feathers yet.

Condolences to you and your family Hambone. Safe travels. Will you still be able to attend the IAC campout in a few weeks?

I'm really sorry for your loss. Have a safe trip. The silver lining to a death in the family is that you get to reconnect with people you may not get to see very often. So often it seems, a funeral is a positive expression of love and compassion not only towards the deceased but for everyone attending. As long as your family keeps him alive in your thoughts, he'll never really be gone.
Good luck with your trip.

Oh Hambone Im so very sorry for your sadness. You bring the IAC so much joy with your wonderfull wit and now the new avitar. I will always think of you as the old blues dude but really like the evil looking boy eating beans out of the can, I do the same from time to time and may also look evil, I like beans and you :flower:

Be warm and safe on your trip, your feathers will come when you need them.

You guys are all so sweet and it's soooo much appreciated. I'll be back next week and talk to you then. And the camp trip is still on, very much looking forward to it.

Sending good vibes your way, Hambone. I hope that sharing fond memories of your father-in-law will help your family make their way through the grieving process.

Have a safe and spirit healing trip, a few deep thoughts may induce a good dose of perspective along the way. Will be good to see you at the camp out and who knows, maybe the colder climes will help with those winter feathers.....I sure don't have mine yet either.....BURR!!! and it hasn't even hit the wet season up here yet!
