Lack of fresh meat...er...most of us have been around VW's for at least a little bit, some new folks to the scene with lots o questions would help the diversity a bunch......unfortunately, most of those folks have no clue what Colin does.

It'll pick up in a few weeks. After our day on my Bus, Colin & I will spend the day putting up new artwork, Tech articles, finding a server for the site & getting a new address. Then we'll install a googlebot which will get us in the search engine & other stuff. That should get things going a little better.

I have been driving a lot, and socializing instead of sitting at the keyboard. We cranked this up a bit early, and I am too far from the home computer to contribute much except for my sprightly observations on skies and little pieces of coke cans.
So whatchoo'd like to do to wake it up?
Contribute to the glossary compilation?
Make a technical write-up contribution that then gets hideously edited?
Post a slideshow of your beautiful Vanagon?
Come on down to Free Speech and see if we can figure out solutions to the world's problems.
Start a thread on tires and oil.

I think Spiffy's got it mostly, this forum seems to composed of the more seasoned, not so many questions over and over, lets remember this later when we complain...

Mostly, it just seems quiet to me. Like when you go out, kind of late, in a small town, sometimes you feel alone.

I do too. That night spent camping on the plateau above Maupin OR was utterly regal.

I want to see this crank up when we have the troubleshooting collated and the artwork coming in and when I have time to participate. . . said the poster with 501 posts :colors:

Why ask the question when you post tech threads on the Samba and not here?

Nothing wrong with that. I post questions here, on Samba and on Shoptalk. But I will usually post the question here as well as one of the others. They're both great sites. But obviously, I want you to post here.

That's true, we don't. At least I don't. Far as I can see, Colin drives around the country helping people get their VWs running and generally having a most exemplary life. Gotta love it.

Me, I'll have TONS of questions soon. I recently pulled a '74 out of a barn, pressure-washed it and ordered a Bentley.

Can't wait to get going :bounce:

That is my point. It just seemed odd that he would post a statement like that while not contributing to the technical forums at the same time.

I just don't want to double post.

If I want a quick answer I'll go to samba. Things move slower over here, that's the point of the post. If I'm not in a need of instant knowledge, I'll post here. I think the quality of response is better here...

Sounds like a great project! And yes, that is what Colin does....well except for getting speeding tickets in his bus and middle of the night wake ups in bank parking lots and Texas down poor oil strikes. He saved me from being a Montana Wal-Mart shopper to boot. :flower: Jack Kerouak (sp?) would have loved this.

Oh yes the needle in the IAC is so obvious to most of us lovers of wanting superior information and exchange on a truthfull forum. I do not like the time and energy away from fun and time spent. Yes I still go to Samba for Classified and Off road but know it will grow here also .

Hell, I just got here after a link in one of sluggos posts. It was a pic. about something or another. I kept my nose out of "the spat" that occurred but also really missed what used to be a good bay community.

Well now I know and I'm glad to be here. It's nice seeing everyone again. Like a family reunion of sorts.
