They ripped off Peter Aschwanden's drawing of Bookwus in Phoebe (neé The Ruptured Duck).

Re: Artwork Ripoff
Man I feel like this is wrong on a few levels. I hope either:
A) the bug-a-palooza folks had a personal relation to Mike AND Peter, or
B) they swap in something that they have the rights to.
Maaaaybe I'm over reacting, but having had intellectual property stolen from me before, (photographs,) I'm quite biased. On the other hand, I don't know how their respective families would feel about it. Do they know?

Re: Artwork Ripoff
My first thought was WOW, because I had no idea that even existed.
In current terms that means Chloe has been drawn by the artist from the greatest VW book ever published (thus far, ahem.)
I hate that it was ripped off, but im very happy to see the artwork that I had previously missed. I have a signed copy of one of Peters large cityscapes hanging in my family room, something ive always been very proud of. Having a drawing that Peter made of your actual bus? That's about as cool as it gets for me.

Re: Artwork Ripoff
I did. That illustration needs to be attributed to Peter Aschwanden, with the understanding that it was photoshopped or otherwise manipulated.Lanval wrote:Did you mail them, and let them know?whc03grady wrote:They ripped off Peter Aschwanden's drawing of Bookwus in Phoebe (neé The Ruptured Duck).

Strangely enough, I am now the owner of the bus in that illustration, and I just changed the header to illustrations I did of the pretty much the same bus again.

I like the dichotomy of the two; the fruits and the labor are each represented perfectly.Amskeptic wrote: Strangely enough, I am now the owner of the bus in that illustration, and I just changed the header to illustrations I did of the pretty much the same bus again.

Re: Artwork Ripoff
Liking that new header, very much! I have spent about as much time in the position to the right (in the new drawing) as I have in the driver's seat of my bus.

Excellent pictures, the change in angle was perfect for the underbus shot.Jivermo wrote:Liking that new header, very much! I have spent about as much time in the position to the right (in the new drawing) as I have in the driver's seat of my bus.

If only we all had a helper in short shorts holding the "D bolt" in to the starter while we threaded that 17mm nut on……
