Running a Two-stroke engine backwards

Since it's possible, is there any advantage in doing it, e.g. evening out wear? Or is it detrimental? The answer is academic for me; I don't own any two-stroke engines.

Detrimental to ancillaries.

Water pump or air-cooling fan? DNLB (does not like backwards)
Oil pump or vacuum pump? DNLB
Alternator? DNLB
Transaxle? DDNLFSB (driver does not like four speeds backwards)

I like your wear consideration. It would shift the cylinder wall wear across the cylinder, it would shift the crankshaft journal wear about 40* across the TDC point.
