Bullitt Chase Scene...

One of my favorites! Here is a magnificent reminder of the days when the aircooled VW was ubiquitous on American roadways. I can recall seeing a traffic intersection here in Miami where 6 Beetles were waiting for a light to change! Besides the one Bug that shows up in several scenes, you'll see at least one splitty from the rear, and innumerable Beetles. I often ask myself, "Where did they all go?" Really, it seems like they were all over the place one year, and then gone the next. I miss the proliferation, certainly.
Oh, and the chase scene is pretty neat, too.

I've been watching the Rockford files (1974-1980) and the number of VWs in it is really amazing; I don't think I realized how ubiquitous these cars were (perhaps moreso in CA and Los Angeles). It's not at all unusual to see 2-3 VWs in a single scene, and Splitties and Bread Loaves are common as well.

Man, talk about short on plot. There seems to be a scene cut after she does the "father won't be home for three hours" routine.
