A great collector has passed...

As one who delights in old objects (I suspect I am in good company in this Forum), I found this obit quite interesting. It's just full of great stuff, not the least being the manner in which Mr. Shear met his untimely demise. I thought you all might like to read it...

yes, interesting story.
Growing up in my Dad's Antique store I have seen a lot of collectable stuff and cleaned out a lot of houses of the "stuff". To me most of that stuff is "crap" until it becomes old enough or rare enough and then it's priceless. My Dad left me a bunch of stuff from his store and it's still in boxes in storage but I keep the memories of my Dad's and mine adventures in the biz with me always.
Hopefully this guy's stuff is donated to a museum so they can go through it and display some of it.
