Herbie's World Tour

Post by Herbie 1963 » Sat Dec 03, 2011 7:00 pm

Hey folks,

You maybe remember us!?
We are back in the States continuing our world trip in our VW Herbie replica from 1963 pulling a camper.
We met Colin at a Starbucks in Yuma, Arizona, almost a year ago and he was telling you about us and our adventure.

Hello!
How is the little bug running?

Since we last chatted in Yuma, I have put an additional 13,000 miles on my '78 bus, and have procured a 1970 bus with a stock 1600 engine that I drove across the country last month. I love the earlier simpler VWs.

Hey Colin & all others,

Yeah, we are back in the US (California) and the engine of our Bug is still running. Everything is working out great! I did a lot on Herbie the last weeks. So now it is like brand new. Pictures you can find on our blog:

http://www.dlv.co.at

Now we're preparing ourselves for South America!

How are you doing?

Yours, Domi

What a remarkable journey. I love seeing that same plucky little unassuming little car (saddled with a trailer no less!) in all of these photographs all over the planet. Geeze, makes my itinerant travels feel like ... a little ride around the backyard.
(it's a pretty backyard ...)

Good to see you back here. Am enjoying your blog (?) chronicling your travels. Someday, someday, getting sooner and sooner, Cheryle and I are going to get out there for some extended travels ourselves. Nothing as ambitious as yours, though.

Just for reference, you can use the 'Code' button and tags to prevent it from doing that... to show the code for demonstrative purposes:
