Skills

Post by Mike Boell » Wed May 19, 2010 12:50 pm

Willy in Molalla is doing the work, I'm just writing the checks. Willy has performed surgery on several VW's in the greater Portland area and does fine work as if the vehicle was his own.

not sure how you tried to post the pics before, or quite how Photobucket supplies the image links.

behind the scene

Post by Mike Boell » Fri Jun 11, 2010 10:21 am

I brought my bus home a couple weekends ago and dropped off the fiberglass top, bumpers, overriders and other items with Willy to be painted white. Those are all now done and as time allows I'm working towards assembly.

The Yosemite Yellow color as I understand it was only offered in 1974 and 1975 and they used a yellow canvas tent.

Obviously the canvas is very dirty after 35 years but you can see around the gimp that it was yellow. Please correct me if I'm wrong but to the best of my research no one makes the canvas top in this color. I know I can go with white, tan, etc. and it would look good but I'd really like to find this yellow. Any suggestions? How about an awning shop or tent shop.
All suggestions welcome.
