You got that Mad Max look there, I think you need one of these guys in the Bus with you on long trips:

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

I think that was about the time the cardboard seat hack gave out and the springs in the seat were trying to get real intimate with me.

Wow! You made it right on schedule and no miships! That must feel great. Congratulations!
I can't believe how harsh the weather is in that pic. Looks like January.
Good luck to you and that bus. May it serve you well. It's going to take you a while to get all the trout out though, hiding under the carpet.

No kidding, I came into the Dakotas a day after they got hit by a blizzard. I felt like I was threading the needle.

It needs a good going over, but the heart is good, a real sweetheart to drive.

Todd,

I'm glad you made it home okay.

It's a good thing you didn't run into any freezing drizzle on the way; you ain't got no driver side windshield wiper!

A fun trip I'm sure. It's the perfect way to begin a relationship with a bus. Glad you're home safe and sorry I couldn't make it up to Portland. Catch you next time.

That is one big trip--further than I've ever driven a Bus.
(1100 miles each way from home to Taos, NM and back in 2006 is my record.)
What about you all?
I think I'll post a poll in G Chat.

Thanks to you all for helping to get another Bay back on the road.

Good catch on the wiper, Satchmo, Rain-x saved the day. I had the wiper but the linkage arms had some issues.

That driver's side window crank was my old one from my bus. It's been to a lot of campouts. Weird little talisman.
