Sounds like a couple of yards I've visited in Duarte and Fontana (or is it SB?). Thanks for the tip about Interstate. Yeah, near the mall just as I thought, but wondered if they had been displaced with the development. I dream of acres of VWs at pick apart prices... silly dreamer. Anyway, there are only a few items I seek, none of them vital.

I would like to write up a list of vital spare parts to keep around so I can start accumulating them.

It was the vital parts I needed when I started going there. Like engine tin,good seat frames and the heat riser. The prices were fair and the chance of me finding at swaps or on Samba would have just taken too much time. Steve is a good resource for the little things I have been collecting for the shiny stuff/non necessary to keep him running.

I like to buy things that fit my'69 when they come up. He is a keeper and they just don,t have a great selection at NAPA
