Where are you from?
This may belong in the free speech but this is where everybody hits. Why doesn't everybody put there location in their profile, so we can tell whether or not we have nieghbors. I didn't do it at first either ! If this site is gonna take off we may as well stalk each other too :dscared:

I am sort of itinerant. Supposed to be "from" upstate New York, but my current landing site is still up in the air.
I could have stopped by Cape Cod last week, did a job in Falmouth.

Re: Where are you from?
If your just asking Bay Window people (pretty much everyone for the moment) then this is the place. If you want to know for all members, they probably wouldn't see it here so "Free Speech" would get a more accurate reply.vdubyah73 wrote:This may belong in the free speech but this is where everybody hits. "one who travels place to place"chitwnvw wrote:Does itinerant have any connotations. Or does it simply mean "One who travels from place to place."

I hesitate to ask, but must know. . .

It just sounded like that kind of word. Fairly simply defined, but the shading of meaning holds much more. Can I ask why you chose it?
From Wikipedia:
An itinerant is a person who travels from place to place with no real home.
Examples of itinerant groups include:
* Nomads
* Roma people
* Hobos
* Tramps
* Schnorrers
* Vagabonds
* Irish Travellers
* Perpetual travelers
This is me now: So hobos, tramps and vagabonds have certain cultural attachments to them. Itinterant, well you introduced me to the word so, since you chose it, I figured I'd ask...

I liked the sound. Most other names considered by the several people who suggested that I try this air-cooled education experiment sounded sort of flat over time. This one seems to wear well. . . except for the spelling that has to be spelled out.chitwnvw wrote:

We're a little itinerant too. We spend most of the year in San Francisco, part of the year on the lovely island of Bonaire (in the Caribbean), and many weekends in Covelo (Mendocino County).
