Ad-Hock F.P. gauge

Post by spiffy » Wed Aug 09, 2006 6:01 pm

So I took a cue from a respected bus guru and went on the hunt for a cheap way to plug into my fuel rail to test my fuel pressure. I started in my tool box and found a air compressor gauge that went up to 120psi, not optimal so I went on the hunt (home depot) to ransack their compressor section....no dice on gauges OR connections...next came 3 visits to 3 different FLAPS...nothing under $40 OR any connections....jeesh!! So I had some old fuel hose laying around and two clamps......hooked it up and it worked great!!! Even though the range on the gauge has a larger range it is still efective because the tests you run look for a baseline and then up or down trends. Moral of the story...no need to spend more then $15 to test your fuel pressure =P~

You will be ready for our roadside tech games. . . whereupon competing teams must troubleshoot and make run two fuel-injected buses with no more than common kitchen implements and a household junk drawer.
