I do have a cylinder head temp gauge.
Solid lifters. as far as I know, valve adjuster screws are original.
The lash caps were an interesting idea. I just like the idea of protecting those teeny little valve ends.
Let the teeny little valve ends suffer. Lash caps are fine as a stop-gap after damage has occurred, but they are a recipe for trouble the instant you accidentally adjust a valve out of position and start the engine.

Sand smooth to reduce stress, it looks serviceable.

Good. By the way, there appears to be hair in the mechanicals.

I've pulled a couple of VDO CHT gauges and one Dakota Digital gauge at Pick & Pull over the years and given them all away, but I'm not sure what went where. I *think* I gave you the DD gauge...

I don't think the one you gave me is digital. I could be wrong. I know I have the sensor and a gauge and may need to get a longer wire to reach the dashboard.

Dakota Digital P/N SEN-11-8 is what you want regardless of gauge. It's got the right size ring for our sparkplugs, and is 18' long so it reaches the dash easily.

I'll check when I get home. I know you recommended one and that's probably what I bought based on your recommendation. Yay!

The new heads are 52cc each according the to machine shop.

These were the numbers from the rebuild - different (and now toasted) heads:
52cc for heads
15cc for piston dish
.016 deck height (mock-up) #3 & #4
.015 for #1 & #2

Do I need to do anything different? Seems like my calculations should be the same and the compression ratio should remain the same.

Nope, just install those suckers. Maybe check DH again if you're paranoid.

I thought it was more complicated than that and that was probably why my brain didn't want to remember it.

Everything measures out the same, just like they would if you'd "merely" had the old heads reworked, so don't worry about the DH. Put it together with the sealing rings/head gaskets -- because it had been assembled with them before -- and the C/R will be the same .. everything will be the same.

Don't rush anything, but don't over-analyze things and second-guess yourself about every detail either .. that's Neal's job. :cyclopsani:

That is a huge relief. And not dealing with the rocker arm geometry and lash caps too. Whew! Just need to grab some JB weld to make sure that cam plug stays there for safe measure. weeeeee!!!!!
