Forget the currywurst as I fell in love with the Spaetzle for lunch with beer. Gosh, I can't wait to go back and gain 5 lbs.

update! the forum has helped save another diesel's life!
we now have a generous member who has made contact to "the packaging challenged seller from Samba"
and is picking up the transaxle Friday! Cheers and beers to sailorkh

The yellow Currwurst vanagon will now have another factory transaxle from the same year diesel and all! (1982)
what are the chances of ever finding one of those again!?! :thumbleft:

Sailorkh has even so kindly offered to keep in in his storage till we figure out how to get it here safely.
I salute you Sailorkh and your kindness to my Currywurst! :salute:

Thanks to all who posted for advice and the food stories this inspired too! keep em coming please! :flower:
PROST! :occasion5:

The good ol days . . . back when it was warm.

See, Pensacola last enjoyed "29* on November 27th" back in 1903, and it is to be 28* tomorrow morning.

I look forward to driving Currywurst after we install the new transaxle. Obtain a new bell housing-to-differential gasket if you can, from Long Enterprises perhaps. You can also check to see if the Samba-packaging-challenged seller gave you a proper magnetic drain plug. If not, you can use the current Heavy-Duty "Shattered Synchronizer Special" Super-Extender Magnetic Drain Plug.

Colin, it's 81 right now in South Florida. :sunny:
This heat does not agree with the wife and me.
I wish I could trade weather with you!!
Next summer I will need a housesitter for where we worked on the Wursts....
Something to think about maybe? :pirate:

Both of my wursts are missing you you (they told me during their exercise session yesterday after work)
Come back soon!
