Distroless ignition, bulletproof design, extremely smooth, millions of parts, and double the HP with better mileage.
And the thing is, at this point of time when engine rebuilds easily venture into 3-4K dollar, you are better off converting.

The wanker filled in & ground out all the seams. God only knows how much rust he had to deal with -- it's a British rig.
Could stand for a shortened oilpan for sure .. and a stock ride height.

If I am going to convert its to a 3.2L aircooled 911 engine never a watercooled engine.

My thoughts too, but a nice bullet-proof little 2.2 before they got all nasty.

Went over and helped Joseph pull the engines, then the heads. It was a voyage of discovery for both of us, but we managed slow but steady.
Found a bunch of grime on the outside and what seems like too much carbon on the inside.
But the real problem seems to be this metal that has welded itself here:
What do folks think?

Putting the pictures on Photobucket, will post the link here once they are up. Please stand by. We apologize for any incontinence this may have caused. (Cleanup on aisle 3).

It does look like a washer, but the engine is fuel injected. Is there anything "washer like" in the valve assembly that could have come off?
