poor over heating ELLE

Elle the vistacruzer was running hot. checked valves, timing, carbs I'm a dork checked oil and it was 2 quarts low. :geek: 5 quart sump but too low for the crank. now where is that oil leak.. :study:
71 bench 1915
70 wide lowered body rag top 2056 type4 DTM nothing stock if I could touch it.

He's throwing himself on his sword for not keeping track of his oil level.

If I am reading his cryptogram correctly he has added an oil sump for more oil capacity to assist with keeping temps low but even with all that oil 2 quarts low is too low for the crank to be bathed in oil.

and now he is trying to figure out where the oil is going...

Did I get it right Kirk?
So it all started when I wanted to get better gas mileage....

I just wanted to let others add oil level to there list of what to check when thing get hot. And if it saves someone's bus I will take the :withstupid:

I understood the dork part. Kind of a given.

Two quarts low even with a sump and five quart capacity yep, ain't good.

He confessed more of his sins at the lab.

Which reminds me, best be changing Bertha Bus's oil real soon. Thank you. The reminder is timely.
