Electrical?

Post by 72Hardtop » Fri Mar 02, 2012 6:54 am

1972 Westy

Where do the wires for the back up lights fuse holder connect?

I have a wire connected to the oil pressure switch but where does the other end go?

Any online diagrams that show the wiring layout for a 72 bus?

Much appreciated

Reverse lights take power from the positive side of the ignition coil. The oil pressure switch has nothing to do with the reverse lights (maybe you weren't implying that) - it just goes to the warning light in the gauge cluster up front.

Any time you run into a wire that goes to the oil pressure switch that has another wire in the harness that is black, you can be sure that you are holding the actual power supply wire to the coil (#15 +). This is good to know when you are trying to troubleshoot.
Reverse lights will be some other black wire stuck onto #15, that goes left to the fuse holder, then to the transmission switch and comes back to the left taillamp housing and branches to the right via a ceiling conduit.
