Re: Hippie's Engine Rebuild
Well, Colin, me and a buddy decided to go to Effingham, so I guess I better get some parts by then.
Can I have some money please?

Re: Hippie's Engine Rebuild
Well, tackling tasks gains urgency when it's a daily driver. Bertha bus has been trying me seemingly for going on A YEAR NOW! Delaying progress on Gretchen Ghia, oooooo, so demanding. So I can relate to dropping it and picking up a three cylinder commuter "real car". Yet I just can't quite do it. My little VW fleet calling for attention seem much more an example of a "real" car than any modern ones with computer control modules that leave you at the mercy of a dealer. Daily driver now coming up on ten years.
Yeah, been investing in my transportation future. Still cost effective, and a known entity, in the bigger picture.

Re: Hippie's Engine Rebuild
Meh. You can get a scanner pretty cheap nowadays and still do most stuff yourself--but they don't break down often either.
I been driving my truck. Wife's got a car. No soul, but they run.
I'll prolly break down and get a long block just to get the Bus on the road. I rebuilt enough ACVW engines by now. I don't care if the LB is as good. It's just got to run.

Looks like while you are down in Effingham you can pick yourself up a turnkey motor...

That's a weird fan shroud. It tantalizes you with these fresh air hose outlets for heater boxes, but sets them so low that you can't actually put the hoses on.chitwnvw wrote:Hippie's new ride...
