Itinerant Air-Cooled

Does someone more in tune with Beetle minutiae have a good guess as to the year of this thing? All I know is, it's either a '55, '56, or '57. I think.

assuming all of those bits are original (bad assumption) - ill say its a 57.

the pics in my beetle book aren't good enough to say for sure though, but the tail lights look like the 57's as the earlier ones were smaller. it's not a split window and has no semaphores, so it isn't AS old as the earliest ovals...

just a guess.

I'd say a 57 but you have to check its vin as the 55 and 56's mostly had their tail lites upgraded to the later style.
