AC in an AC

Post by RussellK » Thu Aug 26, 2010 6:04 am

So the missus and I are considering selling her modern daily (volvo S40) and replacing it with a beetle. Then the other 98 degree 80% humidity day, she backpedaled a little. But you used to drive one and not complain about the weather I pointed out. But I'm not 22 anymore. I wear nice things now she retorted. But I can put one of those hotrod AC units in and you'll be kept fresh as a daisy. So volksfolks, the question is do these work? Anyone had an experience with them?

In '96 I drove a new Mexican Beetle in Mexico, equipped with AC. It was a serious tax on the engine and I'd not consider it. Seemed like a bad idea. My experience mind you.

Gilmore Enterprises make ac for air cooled, I have even seen one. They are in Florida and on the web.
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
