Looking for suggestions

Post by MidWesty » Thu Sep 14, 2006 9:04 pm

Not sure how many Bug owners we've got here yet but I'm looking for some ideas.
I've got a '63 project that is just getting back to roadworthy status. I've got 2.5in drop spindles up front and plan to run 135's. Front end is under control.
On the rear it's been taken down 1 spline. My question is, what size tire can I get away with out back without a lot of rubbing and carrying on. Just trying to see what anyone else has tried and found out worked or did not work. I'm running stock smoothies if that helps.
There will be times when the whole family will be in it which consists of the wife and 2 little ones, both under 5. Not a lot of weight but weight nonetheless. Suggestions?

Thanks!

Maybe a 185 or 165? I ran 195 once on a lowered beetle, but you have to manipulate the wheel in place.
