So, the Minister of Household Finance has authorized the purchase of a Type 1 VW runabout. Let the shopping begin!

Fun. There's a black one up here in Amboy for $1,250. Haven't listened to it run, but it looks pretty straight.

Thoughts anyone?

I know that 74 doesn't have the "soul" of the earlier bugs, perhaps. But sub-$3k bugs that haven't been "slammed" or "lowered" or "CusZdomizeD" are harder to find than I thought.

as long as you like it.
If you dont love it I'd hold out a little longer.

That being said
it doesn't look too bad - is that front fender dented up?
those riviera wheels on there? -dont look like stockers to me

Both front fenders are narfed. Paint is pretty poor overall, but the inside looks nice. Didn't get to hear it run as I just drove by and looked through the windows. Strong smell of gas in the engine compartment, but the fuel lines looked to be OK. Not sure what that means, but yes there was an engine in there. Didn't see any significant rust.

They are out there in droves, it's just a matter of patience and timing. Winter is coming, cars sell for cheaper too. The long tunnel.

Looks good. Needs cleaning and detail and mechanical restoration programme.
The better you make it mechanically, the more it fun it is to drive.
